Treatments Used

We use a variety of different treatments depending on the injury/condition and the individual. Only after a thorough assessment and discussion with the patient will we formulate a specific treatment plan. The techniques include hands on manual therapy, acupuncture, exercise and electrotherapy. A simple home exercise programme is also usually given to help maintain and hopefully improve the results achieved in the clinic.

Hands-On Manual Therapy

  • Soft Tissue Mobilisation
  • Manipulation and Mobilisation

Frees up restricted joints to improve overall movement and allow better muscular control.

Acupuncture

Acupuncture is used as part of physiotherapy treatment to relieve pain in conditions such as low back pain and osteoarthritis of the knee joints. It may also be effective at releasing myofascIal trigger points making follow up and stretching more effective. See the Acupuncture Association of Chartered Physiotherapists (AAACP)’s website for more information.
